On Monday, November 12, 2018, the Frederick Firestone Fire Protection District welcomed two new members and promoted 4 current members during its Promotional and Recognition Ceremony at the Fire District’s Business & Education Center.
The District officially welcomed two new Paramedic/Firefighters Bryan Aguirre and Chris McCann who were hired to fill spots that were vacated by previous employees. EMT/Firefighter Chase Baldino and EMT/Firefighter Justin Smolenske, who both worked part-time for the District, joined as full-time members in October.
“I am extremely proud of these individuals we have promoted this year and we are also honored to bring on two new personnel into our family this year,” said Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District’s Fire Chief Jeremy Young during the ceremony. “If you have not figured it out, we are an everchanging and growing organization, with a bright future ahead of us.”
The last promotion of the evening was for EMT/Firefighter Matt Zaffree and Paramedic/Firefighter Nick Puccetti who both promoted to Lieutenant. Both Lieutenants took their Call to Duty and were pinned during the ceremony.
“As Lieutenant’s Puccetti and Zaffree have chosen the path of continued leadership, they have also chosen the path of a servant. It is impossible to lead at full potential unless you fully understand and are committed to the needs of others. You cannot expect the best from others unless you strive daily to give them your best,” said Fire Chief Young.
