[ARCHIVED] Ballot Measure 6A for Emergency Service Passes

According to preliminary voting results, District voters approved the Ballot Measure 6A. The measure will help Frederick-Firestone Fire District maintain and enhance its services for the Towns of Frederick and Firestone and unincorporated areas of Weld County serviced by the District.

“We want to express our heartfelt thanks to the voters of Frederick and Firestone for passing the 6A Initiative. We are inspired by the overwhelming support and will work tirelessly on our community’s behalf to secure lasting and meaningful improvements to our quality of life here in Frederick and Firestone. We cannot say, thank you, enough,” said Fire Chief Jeremy A. Young.

The ballot measure became a priority in 2018 through the District’s long-term planning and strategic mission.  As the population of the Fire District continued to increase significantly, service gaps were identified through the District’s planning processes. The ballot measure will ensure that the District will be able to keep providing the same high-level, all-hazards emergency response that includes, advance life support ambulance and fire protection, within the Towns of Frederick and Firestone. The District will now be able to hire more paramedics and firefighters, began replacing its aging apparatus fleet, and build additional stations to serve the growing areas of our community. As a Special District, the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District is funded solely from property taxes and receives no money from local municipalities or from the State.
