The Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. The Directors are elected from certain areas within the District referred to as “Wards” and which are identified on the attached Fire District Ward Map.
Board member elections will be conducted on May 5, 2020 for a three (3) year term. To self-nominate oneself for the upcoming election, an individual must be registered to vote in the State of Colorado and must meet one (1) of the following:
- The individual resides in Ward 1, Ward 4, Ward 5; or
- The individual, or the spouse or civil union partner of the individual, owns taxable real or personal property within Ward 1, Ward 4 or Ward 5.
Note: A person who is obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase taxable property within Ward 4 shall be considered an owner. A mobile home as defined in section 38-12-201.5 (2) or 5-1-301 (29), C.R.S., or a manufactured home as defined in section 42-1-102 (106) (b), C.R.S., shall be deemed sufficient to qualify as ownership of real property or land.
Those individuals interested in running in the next Special District Election on May 5, 2020 must fill out and complete a Self-Nomination and Acceptance Form according to C.R.S 1-13.5-303; 32-1-103(4); 1-45-109(1); 1-45-110; SOS CPF Rule 16; 1-4-908(1), 1-4-912. The completed form with signatures is due to the Designated Election Official no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020. These forms can be provided in person at our Administration Office located at 8426 Kosmerl Place, Frederick, Colorado 80504 or electronically by contacting the Fire District’s Designated Election Official as provided below.
