Carbon Valley Emergency Management Agency's Merrie Garner received the Community Impact Award from the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce on April 9, 2022, at the Chamber's Annual Membership and Awards event. Garner, who is the Emergency Management Coordinator, for the Carbon Valley Emergency Management Agency (CVEMA) was nominated for the award by the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce Board.
The Community Impact Award is a business, non-profit, or individual who has displayed exemplary efforts to make the Carbon Valley communities a better place for all. The recipient has a reputation for integrity, business excellence, and community involvement.
CVEMA has been in the area since its formation in 2018. Garner and the agency is made up of the Towns of Frederick and FIrestone, and the City of Dacono. Garner works closely with an advisory board that is made up of the Frederick Police Department, Firestone Police Department, Dacono Police Department, and the Frederick-Firestone Fire District.
