Engaging with the Community

Community Interaction

Fire departments play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with the communities they serve. By interacting positively with residents, The Frederick-Firestone Fire District and it's firefighters not only strive to build trust but also enhance public understanding of their critical work. Community engagement activities can include:

  • Open Houses: These events invite community members to tour the fire station, meet firefighters, and see the equipment used in emergencies.
  • Community Days: FFFD hosts an annual Community Safety Day, providing an opportunity for informal conversations and demonstrations pertaining to fire and life safety education and prevention.
  • School Visits: FFFD visits schools to educate students about fire safety, inspiring a new generation to understand and gain interests in the first responder career field.
Showing Support

Fire departments are more than just emergency responders; they are pillars of support in the community. They:

  • Participating in Local Events: FFFD supports community events, showing solidarity and support for local causes.
  • Assisting Vulnerable Populations: FFFD offer assistance to seniors or individuals with disabilities by performing home safety checks or installing smoke detectors.
  • Supporting Fundraisers and Charities: By participating in fundraisers, FFFD helps raise awareness and funds for various community needs.
