It is with great sadness that the Frederick-Firestone Fire District (FFFD) announces the passing of Community Risk Reduction Specialist Kristen Hayes who passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Kristen has been a valued team member since early 2023 and will be greatly missed. Please keep Kristen’s family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.

Kristen began her career in emergency services in 2009 as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher for Adams County Communications (ADCOM). In 2018, she became the Fire Prevention Specialist and Life Safety Educator for the South Adams County Fire Department. In 2023, Kristen joined the FFFD as the Community Risk Reduction Specialist, teaching community classes and doing outreach in the communities served.
