Emergency Medical Services

Emergency Medical Services are handled 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Frederick-Firestone Fire handles Emergency Medical Services with a tiered response. The closest fire apparatus responds as well as the closest ambulance. The fire apparatus is staffed with Emergency Medical Technicians and is equipped with medical equipment, including an automated defibrillator.

The ambulance is staffed with a Paramedic/Firefighter and an Emergency Medical Technician/Firefighter. The ambulance is stocked with equipment and medications to provide emergency care to the sick or injured prior to arrival at the hospital. The ambulance staff is trained and equipped to a level allowing full participation with area hospitals’ cardiac alert, stroke alert, and trauma alerts. These alerts maximize the emergency care of a patient by providing the hospital with critical patient information prior to the patient’s arrival at the emergency department.
